Team Judge David Brannon is committed to protecting families and vulnerable individuals through the Montgomery County Probate Court and the partnerships it maintains with local treatment agencies. Judge Brannon and his team monitor over 2,200 guardianships and 200 civil commitment cases, including those vulnerable persons with cognitive decline, developmental disabilities, and/or suffering from serious mental illness. Judge Brannon has closed over 36,000 cases for families since taking the bench, often during the hardest and most meaningful moments of their lives. The Court also adjudicates marriages, adoptions, estates, guardianships and many other types of matters. Judge Brannon has also implemented an outpatient treatment program for those suffering serious mental illness and is now working with a team at the State level to design and open a new State Hospital, bringing 200 treatment beds to our County. Finally, under Judge Brannon’s leadership, the Court opened a new Probate Resource Center, where the public may engage an attorney to assist with their initial filings at the Court.
